Thank You Santa Barbara!

Hello everyone, just a note of thanks to all of you who came by on Wednesday to visit and those who supported in kindness and well wishes. The show went well. Jim and I had a great spot in the front garden area and were afraid of getting withered and burned in the sun and the day turned out to be overcast and the perfect temperature. Jim made new display panels that worked out well. 

 

I know it looks like no one is visiting me at all but we wanted a photo of the set-up and so waited for a quiet moment to take a couple photos. I wanted one of the two sisters Mette and Sissel's booth right next to mine (the guest artists this last Spring Open Studio), but they were always jam-packed. A special thanks to Sissel's husband Rhinehart who took Abby for a few very long walks which she loved.

Recession Buster Series

Well hello to you too. I think I just listed the entire last post twice but I can't tell. Or at least I probably sent it to Facebook twice. Oh well, some day I'll figure this all out. Bear with me. Anyhow here are the new batch of Recession Buster paintings for your viewing pleasure. I did get some making pleasure so hopefully it translates. They are all roughly 5- 7 inches, all unframed painted on scrap wood from Jim's shop (which is actually quite nice sometimes). And I try to keep them a bit quick. (no gold leaf this time)

New Recession Buster Paintings

Some new mini 'Recession Buster paintings for the upcoming Ojai Studio Artist's Tour. These are actually even a bit smaller that those previous (mostly 3x4 inches or so), and between $100-200. .......I tried not to spend too long on them but that never seems to work for me.

Recession Buster Series

So here is the whole "Recession Buster" series. Well almost all. I was lucky to sell two before the Open Studio Show and five more over the course of the weekend. The bird with gold leaf halo was bought by my friend Joe (aka Baby Joe), who usually helps out at shows but was on the east coast that weekend. The guy with the large nose is a new painting based on a sketch I was fond of.  Eventually I plan to list the remaining of these on the Etsy site when I get the chance.  Hope everyone is well -Chris
